There's A Place They Call Heaven

I've always wondered what heaven was like and I've always wanted to see this glorious place we read about.  However, getting there is not in the cards for me right now.  I do know that one day I will be there.  But don't you just want a little glimpse of what is in store?

Heaven is the place where we will spend eternity with God.  It's where no sin exists and evil is not allowed.  It's a place where we live in the wonder and glory of God.

So why am I writing this blog about Heaven?  Because we can have a small piece of Heaven right here on earth.  It's our own small heaven that gives us great hope and a vision of a glorious place.

Some of us live our lives in misery, despair, anger and pain.  We've put ourselves in a position where we cannot see beyond what we suffer.  We wallow in our own pity, and wonder why we are there and we tend to blame everyone else for our troubles but not ourselves.  But it is us who put our self into that place of misery.  Yes, we put ourselves there.  And suffering becomes our living hell.  It's a hell that reminds us everyday that the suffering we burden ourselves with is from the pain of a time past.  We find it is easier to hold onto the pain which we have suffered for decades than to let it go and begin healing.  As we all know the healing process can be just as painful.

In my blog post from 12/23/14, I wrote about blessings and how we blame God for what we don't have, and for all the bad things in our lives.  And when we focus on all the bad, then the bad will just keep happening.  Be thankful for what we have, not what we want or don't have.

My heaven is where I am and where I am most happy.  Whether being with family, friends, by myself, or even in the biggest of crowds, my heaven is an easy place to get to.  The things we enjoy most in life are the things that take us away from some of the pain we live with in our lives.  Do you ever wonder why there are times when you suddenly realize you experienced a happy moment in life?  Ever realize that there are moments when you seem to get lost in thought of wonderful things?  Take advantage of those glimpses of heaven.  They may not be remotely close to the heaven God promises, but we can
surely enjoy the smallest piece of heaven that we get now and then.

Don't give up to the hell you live today.  Don't let that hell you are living control the heaven you are missing.  It's not so bad when you start seeing that life doesn't have to control who you are.  Take control and enjoy it.  Stop letting the rest of the world make you miserable.  It's all about you and where you need to be.  Find your heaven - find your peace.
